[Brief Description] | When a gas or electric powered boat is stalling in the middle of the lake without a timely rescue, the water might creep into the boat through any small gaps until the boat is filled, causing it to sink. Even when the boat is retrieved on time, the electronic systems, such as the servos, ESC, or receiver may still sustain water damage. We have observed this numerous times during testing, and believe that many RC boaters have also encountered these scenarios.
This bilge drainage valve from Arrow Shark was developed as the solution to this long standing issue! The kit is constructed using a billet one way valve, and 3D printed components made of carbon fiber composite materials. The kit is suitable for all Deep-Vee hulls ranging from 35” up to 75”, but it needs to work with either the pulse power water pump or electric power pump. The base of the kit is detachable with upper one way valve; Simply glue the base to the bottom of the hull at the center near the transom where water is most likely to accumulate. The kit includes a copper Y- type connector that attaches both the bilge drainage valve and water cooling inlet to the water pump inlet. As long as the water pump is functioning, along with the bilge drainage valve, the one way billet valve will prevent the water from re-entering the bilge from the other water cooling line, keeping the boat dry. Note: If you are pumping water out of your boat on the stand, you need to block the water cooling tube; Otherwise, the bilge drainage valve will malfunction, as it will leak pressure via the water cooling tube since it is not sealed in the water. |
