| [Brief Description] | Arrow Shark is proud to announce its new GX-1 heavy-duty gear box for large scale RC boats! The GX-1M takes drive from a single power plant and transmits that through two counter-rotating output shafts. It is ideal for larger scale boats, or for non-scale designs, where you wish to obtain the benefits of twin-prop drive for either or both of better appearance and performance.
The main body casing of the GX-1M is constructed with CNC machining and is anodized in red or black to be comparable with the color of Arrow Shark’s M8 scale sterndrives. The input shaft and gears are made from special materials with extra hardening to take gas engines over 10hp without failing. The output shafts of the GX-1M have the same format as the crankshaft of your gas engine; they therefore accept all the collets on the market to connect industry-standard 1/4” flex shafts out to the drive units. We also offer a connection kit as an optional item to work with the GX-1M. The GX-1M is equipped with an oil inlet on the front of the casing so you can easily fill it with oil to lubricate the gears. An aluminum gasket between the front and back castings of the gear box prevents oil leakage. Eight heavy-duty bearings ensure that all the gears engage properly and run smoothly. The gear box assembly mounts between industry-standard 5” (127mm) engine rails using four 4mm bolts – two each side at 38mm centers. The GX-1M will be shipped to you assembled and packed in a protective foam box to ensure its safe arrival ready for installation into your next maritime masterpiece. |
